There are plenty of people who have gone to the doctor and been told that they “have” a certain disease or ailment. Soon after most get sicker and sicker. Trips to the doctor increase. More medicine is taken, still the disease progresses.
There is another, smaller group of people who upon hearing from the doctor that they “have” a certain ailment refuse to “own” it. They just will not take it as fact that it’s a given they will continue to degrade health wise.
These people begin seeing themselves as whole, perfect, healthy. They improve, some even heal completely.
What is the difference between these two groups of people? How can you apply this to your life?
Owning something means you accept it as yours, belonging to you, a part of you.
When you say these are my children, this is my job, home, car, spouse; you are connecting yourself in a very real manner with the energy of these things.
The same is true for dis-ease, poverty, abuse and all other experiences that are not pleasant to you.
You get to determine whether anything is yours or not. You can connect with it and let it become a part of your life experience or simply make a choice for something different.
It’s a simple thing to determine what you are owning by listening to what you say after I Am.
How many times during the day do you say I AM _______________. Fill in the blank and be amazed at the hundreds, maybe thousands of times you declare your connection, your state of Being.
I am poor, sad, angry, fat, ugly, stupid, unloved, sick, are just a few of the ones I hear most often.
Clients will tell me that I don’t understand, they are sick, alone, broke. Yes, I do understand. I understand that as long as you continue to declare yourself to BE anything, you will continue to experience Being that very state.
Decide today what state you will declare yourself to Be. If it’s not what you want, then shift it with a different statement. Own only what you wish to experience.
